Report Cards
When will I receive report cards or progress reports, and what information will they include?
Report cards with each student’s grades or performance and absences in each class or subject are issued to parents at least once every nine weeks. During the fourth week of a nine-week grading period, parents will be given a written progress report if their child’s performance in English language arts, mathematics, science, or social studies is near or below 70%, or is below the expected level of performance.
If the student receives a grade lower than 70% in any class or subject at the end of a grading period, the parent will be requested to schedule a conference with the teacher of that class or subject. The report card or progress report will state whether tutorials are required for a student who receives a grade lower than 70% in a class or subject.
Progress reports are emailed mid-quarter to provide an opportunity to address the academic or behavioral needs of the student.
Questions about grade calculation should first be discussed with the teacher; if the question is not resolved, the parent or student may request a conference with the principal or designee. State law provides that a test or course grade issued by a teacher cannot be changed unless the Board of Directors determines that the grade was arbitrary or contains an error, or that the teacher did not follow the school’s grading policy.
Grading and Report Cards
Legacy Traditional Schools have four grading quarters. Progress reports are emailed mid-quarter to provide an opportunity to address the academic or behavioral needs of the student. Report cards provide information regarding the student’s academic and behavioral performance. Report cards are emailed home at the end of each grading period. Parents/guardians are encouraged to access their child(ren)’s grades at any time at LTSTX.powerschool.com. PowerSchool account access information is provided during the first week of the school year and may be requested from the registrar at any time.
Parents/guardians may request to meet with their child’s teacher at any time throughout the year to discuss their child’s performance.
